The Carolina Panthers have signed former Buccaneers special teams captain, Russell Shepard. Shepard and the Panthers have agreed to terms of a three-year contract this past Friday.
Russell Shepard spent four seasons with the Buccaneers and was the special team’s captain from 2015-2016.
Shepard was primarily a special teams player for the Buccaneers but last season he saw significant playing time as a WR for the Bucs following Vincent Jackson’s injury. Earning four starts for the Buccaneers last year, he was targeted 40 times, (the most in his stint as Buc), catching 23 passes for 341 yards and two touchdowns.
