The Buccaneers are bringing in veteran defensive lineman Lamarr Houston for a workout.

Houston is a former second-round pick in 2010 for the Raiders. He played for four seasons with the Raiders, and recorded 16 sacks, 4 forced fumbles, recovers 6 fumbles, 1, blocked kick, had 1 interception for a touchdown, and 228 tackles.

After playing for the Raiders, he was signed to the Chicago Bears with a five-year $35 million contract. During his stint with the Bears, he wound up on the IR three times (2014, 2016 and 2017 w/ ACL injuries). However he did manage to record 9 more sacks, 57 more tackles, 2 more fumble recoveries, and another blocked kick.

Houston was placed on IR during this year’s preseason, and released with an injury settlement.

If healthy, he can be a major impact on any team’s defense.
