The Bucs Pickup Another Corner.

It’s that time of the year where the injury bug begins to peek its ugly head out of the shadows, and it again it struck in the defense.

During training camp, veteran CB Brent Grimes got a little banged up, so as a precaution the Buccaneers have been holding him out of practices. Missing some practices and some preseason games is not a big deal for someone of Grimes caliber, however, losing your second man to injury in the first preseason game, is a big deal.

Vernon Hargreaves had been injured during training camp, but bounced back quickly, only to be injured early, during last week’s game in Miami. Although it’s just a groin injury, Hargreaves will easily miss the rest of the preseason, and depending on the severity of the strain, could miss a couple of regular season games.

Tampa, who had snatched up some loose CB’s earlier this week and have picked up another CB over the weekend. *Bucs waive CB Aaron Davis.

The Bucs have claimed CB De’Vante Harris, who went undrafted in 2016 out of Texas A&M. Harris was picked up by the New Orleans Saints in 2016 and played in 21 games for them before being waived in order to make room on the roster for other players. During those 21 games, 2016-2017, Harris saw some playing time and recorded 25 tackles, 3 passes defended, and 1 fumble recovery.

Harris will not be a pick up that will wow anyone but will fill a necessary spot on the roster and give the guys on the secondary some much-needed competition.
