Bucs Must Look Out For Calvin Ridley

This Sunday the Buccaneers take on the Falcons, but this time something is different. Not only must the Bucs cover WR Julio Jones but also rookie WR Calvin Ridley. He is showing why the Falcons took him in the 1st round of the NFL Draft this year.

Ridley was the 26th overall pick by the Falcons from Alabama. Last season, his junior year, he had 63 receptions for 967 yds and 5 TDs. Ridley can be a game changer with his rare combination of speed and incredibly precise route running. He can dominate DBs if they allow him a cushion or a free release.

So far this season Ridley has 19 catches for 302 yds and 6 TDs, establishing himself as a potential Red Zone threat. Brent Grimes and the rest of the Bucs’ secondary have a huge task ahead of them. Bucs fans, hope that the Bucs DBs can blanket Ridley and not allow him any big plays.
