What We Are Thankful For – Bucs Report

With Thanksgiving comes not only time with family and good food but football as well. So today some of us from Bucs Report wanted to share what we are thankful for this year. What are YOU thankful for? Let us know in the comments below!

I am thankful for the many blessings that have been given to me through the years.  My wife Kathleen and my children Kate, Tristan, and Rowan.  I am thankful that every day I have the opportunity to watch the sun rise over Tampa Bay and set on the Gulf of Mexico.  I am also thankful that I do not work for whatever preferred moving company coaches of the Buccaneers use because they will be VERY BUSY this upcoming year…if not sooner.

It seems that every year it is very easy for Thanksgiving to be glossed over, but it is still such an important holiday for our families and nation as a whole. Thanksgiving is a universal day where we are purposeful in cherishing the blessings that we have.

As a Bucs fan there is not a ton of optimism in the fan base or at One Buc Place at the moment, but regardless there is plenty that I am thankful for at the end of the day. I’m blessed with a beautiful family: a beautiful wife, 2 gorgeous kids (1 girl and boy apiece), and the world’s best chocolate lab. Blessed with a career that I enjoy and that provides for my family. I’m thankful for friends that have become family and family that have become my wife and I’s closest confidants. I thank God for all of the blessings He has given my family and for giving us the greatest gift of all…His son.

And of course I’m thankful for my Tampa Bay Buccaneers and our 2003 Super Bowl win! A fact we can always hold over the Panthers and Falcons (28-3 cough cough). Here is to finishing out 2018 and a strong 2019 season! #gobucs

Being a Bucs fan you would think finding something to be thankful about wouldn’t be that easy. As far as the team’s performance on the field—well, let’s just leave that alone for now.

What I am thankful for is that we actually have a team. One that might not live up to expectations but a team nonetheless. I am thankful for all the fans who continue to support this team regardless of whether we agree on things or not. I am thankful for the fans who travel to our away games, to the fan groups that make up this diverse collection of individuals known as Bucs fans.

I’m just thankful that I’ve been able to have a team, a home town team that I’ve been supporting the past 5 decades!

Oh, and having a freaking pirate ship in your stadium firing cannons is definitely something to be thankful for!

In regards to the Buccaneers this week, I am thankful for Cairo Santos. It was refreshing on Sunday to see our kicker go out there and make all of the extra-point kicks he attempted. I was impressed by his first practice at Raymond James and by his positive attitude and motivation when he joined the team. I look forward to seeing how well he performs the remainder of the season.

I am thankful the Bucs have a Super Bowl and that we can rub that in the faces of every Vikings, Chargers, Browns, Falcons, Panthers, Bengals, Bills, Lions, Texans, Titans, Cardinals, and Jaguars fans out there. Savor those playoff appearances and Super Bowl appearances, Falcons and Panthers fans, because it only took us one try to get our title. None of our staff and players had to suffer any suspensions after our Super Bowl, Saints fans. I am also thankful that we have more Buccaneers in the Football Hall of Fame who joined the late Lee Roy Selmon in providing the rare shining light in the darkness that continuously overshadows the franchise.
