Jason Pierre-Paul ended the 13-year drought of the Buccaneers not having a double-digit sack defender. The last Bucs’ defender to record double-digit sacks was Simeon Rice when he recorded 14 in 2005. The closest to get to 10 sacks after him were Michael Bennett with 9 and Gerald McCoy with 9.5.

Pierre-Paul recorded a sack on San Francisco 49ers’ QB Nick Mullens, ending the long-standing drought. He left the game with 10.5.

The Buccaneers went into Sunday’s game with 25 sacks, which was three more than last season’s totals. The Bucs got to the 49ers’ QB four times, bringing their total up to 29 on the year.
