The Buccaneers get another win, this time against a very strong Carolina Panthers team.

Jameis Winston played well again. He did not make any major mistakes, did not commit a turnover, and ended up passing for 249 yards, completing 20 of his 30 pass attempts for two touchdowns.

With DeSean Jackson sitting out due to injury, Chris Godwin made a case for himself and proved once again that all the hype around him in the preseason was for real. The former Penn State product had 5 receptions for 101 yards, one of which he caught for a score.

The performance of Tampa Bay’s defense as a whole was excellent. The pass rush was able to get into Cam Newton’s head, recording four sacks. In addition to that, Newton was picked off four times by the Bucs. Three of those interceptions were made by Andrew Adams, who had a career day.

The Bucs were very unfortunate when Peyton Barber fumbled the ball into the end zone. At least that is how the referees saw it. It might as well have been a touchdown as he might still have had possession when he held the ball over the goal line. However, after reviewing the play, the referees confirmed that it was a fumble, which was recovered by Carolina in the end zone. Fortunately, this decision did not come back to haunt the Bucs later in the game.

All in all, a highly impressive victory by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Next up is an even tougher matchup against the red-hot New Orleans Saints.
