Hagen’s Week 17 Preview – Bucs vs. Falcons

0

In the final game of football for the season, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers host the Atlanta Falcons. Both teams are out of playoff contention, but look for Dirk Koetter and the Bucs to leave it all out on the field and try to get a win on Sunday, as a lot of people’s jobs are on the line in Tampa Bay.

Atlanta has one of the better quarterbacks in football. He has completed 69.3 percent of his passes for a total of over 4,500 yards and 33 touchdowns. Having only thrown 6 interceptions makes these outstanding numbers even more impressive. Keeping Matt Ryan in check will be a tough challenge for Tampa’s defense, even though they’ve been playing well as of late.

Tevin Coleman will be the starting running back for the Falcons. He has 755 yards on the ground on 159 rushing attempts, and he has found the end zone thrice.
For the Buccaneers, there is still speculation about whether they will start Jameis Winston or give Ryan Griffin a chance to show what he can do. Moving on from Winston now would be a huge mistake. They must stick with the former first overall pick and finish the season on a high note. If the Bucs start Winston, as they should, Tampa Bay will win this game. He will prove that he is capable of leading this team.

A lot of fans would not mind a loss in this game because it would improve Tampa’s draft position. Do not expect the Bucs to lose this game on purpose; there is too much at stake for Koetter and Licht and a lot of players, including Jameis Winston. Beyond that, player development, confidence and ending the season on a high note are more important than draft positioning. If that is not enough for you to want the Bucs to win this game, doesn’t beating Atlanta always feel wonderful?

Bucs win, Winston shines!

Final score: 27 -24 Tampa Bay!

Enjoy the last game of football for a long time, Bucs fans.
