Marc Trestman Named Tampa’s XFL Coach

The XFL team in Tampa might not have a name, but it does have a Head Coach!

Thomas Bassinger of the Tampa Bay Times reported earlier today that Marc Trestman will be named Head Coach of the Tampa XFL franchise.

The former Toronto Argonauts Head Coach (’17-’18) Marc Trestman was also the Head Coach of the Montreal Alouettes from (’08-’12) where he won consecutive Grey Cup Championships in (’09-10). Marc Trestman was Head Coach of the Chicago Bears (’13-’14).

Marc Trestman is a recognizable name with an offensive pedigree. Judging by their Head Coaching choice I’d say the Tampa franchise of the XFL will lean towards an offensive heavy team.

It has been previously speculated that Jim Leavitt would get the Tampa job, but those rumors ended up not being true.
