Today the Cincinnati Bengals announced that they hired two coaches to complete their staff. One of which was former Tampa Bay Buccaneers Defensive Coordinator Mark Duffner who is now the Bengals senior defensive assistant.
The 65 year-old Duffner spent the majority of last season as the Bucs defensive coordinator after the firing of Mike Smith. In total he spent three years with the Bucs. Most of which as the defense’s linebackers coach.
Under Duffner the abysmal defense showed signs of improvement as the season progressed under his tenure. This is mostly attributed to his ability to simplify the complicated Smith playbook.
Without a doubt the recent Buc coach has a ton still to offer in the NFL coaching world as he looks to help improve the Bengals defense.
