It seems like Arians isn’t done shaping out the coaching staff just yet. According to Greg Auman of The Athletic the Buccaneers have added five assistants, many of them with ties to Arians, to the coaching staff ahead of training camp. All 5 coaches are members of Bill Walsh Coaching Fellowship, which allows coaches to get exposure during the offseason and NFL training camps. The objective being to allow coaches to observe, participate and hopefully to earn a full time coaching position in the NFL.
Bucs officially announce five Bill Walsh Coaching Fellows for the upcoming team minicamp: ex-Chiefs RB Kimble Anders, ex-Broncos OL George Foster, ex-Lions RB Kevin Jones, ex-Colts and Cards corner Jerraud Powers and ex-Steelers WR Nate Washington. Lots of Arians alums there …

The amount of experience on this year staff should be a welcomed sight considering the amount of inexperience on the defensive side of the roster. The one thing ex-players bring to a staff that maybe coaches can not is their relatability factor. Sometimes it’s a bit easier for a young, struggling rookie to lean on a coach who’s been there an done that. Kudos to Bruce Arians for making this move and bringing these guys on board.
