CBS Sports Gives Bruce Arians Best Odds to Win Super Bowl 55

CBS released a list of 23 head coaches who were hunting for their first Super Bowl win. Atop that list was none other than Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ head coach Bruce Arians.

Quote via John Breech of CBS Sports

“Arians has been a head coach for seven seasons and in each of those seasons, he’s come up empty in the Super Bowl department. So to fix that problem, he brought in a secret weapon for 2020: Tom Brady. If the Buccaneers are going to win their second Super Bowl in franchise history, this feels like the season where it could happen.”

It is certainly hard to disagree with Breech. The stars have aligned for the Buccaneers in 2020. A great coaching staff paired with the greatest quarterback of all time. Add a ridiculous arsenal of offensive weapons and a young, hungry defense, and you have yourself a contender.

Full List:

  1. Bruce Arians, Buccaneers
  2. Kyle Shanahan, 49ers
  3. Frank Reich, Colts
  4. Sean McVay, Rams
  5. Sean McDermott, Bills
  6. Bill O’Brien, Texans
  7. Mike Zimmer, Vikings
  8. Matt LaFleur, Packers
  9. Mike Vrabel, Titans
  10. Dan Quinn, Falcons
  11. Kliff Kingsbury, Cardinals
  12. Matt Nagy, Bears
  13. Kevin Stefanski, Browns
  14. Anthony Lynn, Chargers
  15. Vic Fangio, Broncos
  16. Brian Flores, Dolphins
  17. Matt Patricia, Lions
  18. Matt Rhule, Panthers
  19. Zac Taylor, Bengals
  20. Adam Gase, Jets
  21. Doug Marrone, Jaguars
  22. Ron Rivera, Redskins
  23. Joe Judge, Giants

Arians is no stranger to a Super Bowl-winning organization. As a wide receivers coach for the Pittsburgh Steelers and a few years later as the Steelers offensive coordinator, Arians helped in his respective department in ensuing those two seasons saw the grand prize. Fast forward to 2020 and Arians could be on the cusp of his very first Super Bowl as the head honcho.

Of course, like any team, it’s a team effort and the offensive and defense will need to play bigger than ever if they want to see their dream become a reality. If the Buccaneer defense can go stride for stride with what could be one of the league’s best offenses, then Tampa Bay’s odds to make the Super Bowl should be decent.
