Quarter One
The Kansas City Chiefs won the toss, but choose to defer. Tom Brady and the offense get the opportunity to start off with a lead.
A quick three and out is not ideal here, after Brady delivers a poor ball to Chris Godwin.
Patrick Mahomes fails to convert on his first drive of the game, and we reset with the Buccaneers on the 25 yard line.
Pinion punts for the second time but has failed to go over 40 yards, a poor performance so far.
Harrison Butker connects on a 49-yard field goal give the Chiefs a 3-0 lead. Need a big answer by the offense.
A beautiful drive is capped off by a Rob Gronkowski touchdown pass. Tampa Bay leads 7-3 at the end of the quarter.
Quarter Two
On fourth and goal from the one-yard line, Ronald Jones is stopped and the Chiefs take over. A huge missed opportunity to manufacture a two-score lead.
A holding penalty on a fourth-down punt forces the Chiefs to redo the play. Townsends shanks his next try for 29 yards and the Buccaneers start with great field position.
Tom Brady finds Gronkowski for his second touchdown of the game. The Buccaneers lead 14-3 with 6:05 left in the half.
Shaq Barrett and company get pressure on Mahomes to force a field goal in the red zone. The Buccaneers lead 14-6 with an opportunity to match with one minute remaining.
WOW, what a two-minute drill by the offense, capped off with a one-yard Antonio Brown touchdown reception. The Buccaneers lead 21-6 going into the second half.
Quarter Three
Kansas City starts with the football and begins by successfully pounding the rock with Clyde Edwards-Helaire.
Lavonte David makes a great play to force a 52 yard field goal, which is good by Harrison Butker. The Buccaneers still lead 21-9, and get the ball for the first time in the half.
Playoff Lenny answers! He scores from 25 yards out to give the Buccaneers a 28-9 lead. Time to keep the foot on the gas.
Todd Bowles had this defense prepared to play! Shaq Barrett gets Mahomes on the ground right before an interception by Antoine Winfield Jr. Tampa Bay will take over at the Chiefs’ 45-yard line.
After a poor snap, the Buccaneers are forced to kick a 52-yard field goal, but Ryan Succop makes it look easy. The Buccaneers lead 31-9 with 2:46 left in the quarter.
Quarter Four
On fourth and nine in the red zone, Mahomes tosses up a miracle pass as he’s going down for a sack, but it’s dropped in the end zone. Brady will take over with 13:32 left in the game.
The Buccaneers take a ton of time off the clock but punt. The Chiefs do the same after a few massive hits on Mahomes.
Antoine Winfield Jr. gives Hill some of his own medicine on fourth down. Tossing up the peace sign in his face. It was flagged, but also 100% worth the penalty, this team didn’t forget his antics in the regular season. Devin White would end the game with a goal-line interception.
Happy 1 year Anniversary Bucs Fam! They can NEVER take SUPER BOWL 55 away from us. We’re forever the FIRST TEAM to HOST and WIN the SUPER BOWL AT HOME! #GoBucs @Buccaneers 2/7/21🤩🙌🏆 pic.twitter.com/nrMgua8nMo
