It’s Tuesday March 8th 2022, so that means another rumor involving the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and their quarterback position. This one comes from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. Contrary to reports straight from Jason Licht and Bruce Arians’ mouth, Rapoport still thinks the Bucs will take a “big swing” at a veteran quarterback.

“I would expect them to be looking around and taking a big swing elsewhere, like Deshaun Watson,” Rapoport stated. “Russell Wilson said on The Today Show he wants to play on the West Coast. So it sounds like no Russ. I would think they would take a swing at Deshaun Watson if his legal situation clears up. So I would kind of keep an eye on that as well.”
During their press conferences at the NFL Combine general manager Jason Licht and head coach Bruce Arians were asked about trading for a veteran quarterback.
Bucs' Bruce Arians on elite QBs not being as available as reported: "I like about eight of them, but they're all playing for somebody else. I don't see guys giving up quarterbacks unless they've got a really good 2 sitting on their bench, because this draft is a little thin."

Buccaneers general manager Jason Licht echoed that sentiment at the combine.

It’s hard to see Watson’s legal issues being cleared up before the start of free agency. I still think we’re looking at a Kyle Trask/Blaine Gabbert competition in training camp. But, Rapoport insists…
