The Tampa Bay Buccaneers checked off a huge box on their free agency to-do list when the re-signed center Ryan Jensen earlier this week. Tuesday Jensen spoke with the media for the first time since signing three-year $39 million dollar deal.
“I’m extremely excited to be back. Never wanted to leave.” Jensen then stated he wanted to stay before the Brady returning announcement. “He called me on Sunday, pretty much right before he announced, said ‘Hey, let’s run it back.’ At that point, I was already pretty much committed to returning.” Jensen when asked about Brady retiring after the brutal loss to the Rams in the divisionalround. “He can’t go out like that,”
Jensen went on to say he has confidence in Buccaneers general manager Jason Licht when it comes to replacing recently retired Ali Marpet and former guard Alex Cappa. He went on to say recently signed guard Aaron Stinnie there was “little to no dropoff” when he’s filled in.
"When Tampa signed me in 2018, that made a dream come true, and I wanted to stay here, and I want to end my career here."
