BR’s 3-Round Buccaneers Mock Draft 1.0

0

For this Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ mock draft we stay on the line of scrimmage. Starting with a guard that will push for a starting position, a physical EDGE rusher and tight end with great size.

Round 1, Pick 27
Zion Johnson, G, Boston College
HT: 6’3 WT: 316 lbs

Johnson has tackle experience, but at the pro level, he’s best suited as an interior blocker. At the point of attack he is excellent. He has excellent power and can impose his will. Johnson will definitely compete for if not win the Buccaneers open guard position.

Round 2, Pick 60
Kingsley Enagbare, EDGE, So. Carolina
HT: 6’4 WT: 260 lbs

Kingsley Enagbare has good length and upper body strength. He has heavy hands with great knock-back power. Excellent tackler that does so in punishing fashion. Has potential to play five-technique, but needs to bulk up and work on his get-off.

Round 3, Pick 91
Trey McBride, TE, Colorado State
HT: 6’5 WT: 230 lbs

At this time, Rob Gronkowski hasn’t decided if he wants to retire or play another season in the NFL. Even if he does return to the Buccaneers, tight end is a long term need and a position that takes a few years to truly acclimate to the NFL. Addressing this need in the draft now means they will be able to step in as a starter you can feel confident about in a year or two.
