Tampa Bay Buccaneers starting All-Pro right tackle Tristan Wirfs spoke with the media Tuesday. During that press conference he spoke about his ankle injury. As Joey Knight of the Tampa Bay Times reports, Wirfs reaffirmed he did not need surgery and his recovery is progressing fine. Knight also points out proof of Wirfs’ statement in that he showed up to the press conference barefooted and no sign of tape on his ankle.
Tristan Wirfs reaffirms no surgery needed on his injured ankle, says he’s progressing fine. Case in point: He arrived at this presser with bare feet and nary a strand of ankle wrap. #Bucs pic.twitter.com/lxJJ6bjzHB

Also during Wirfs’ presser he mentioned that he still doesn’t have Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady’s phone number. Not sure of the history or relevance of that, just thought it was funny. Maybe a second All-Pro season by Wirfs will get him put on Brady’s contacts list? Or maybe, Wirfs has played so well Brady doesn’t have much to say to him?
What does @TristanWirfs78 have to do to get @TomBrady's phone number? 🥲 pic.twitter.com/GlpTSUq644
