Tampa Bay Buccaneers general manager and renowned pool jumper Jason Licht spoke to the media earlier in the week. He spoke about the team’s plans as free agency is winding down.
Licht on the status of bringing back Ndamukong Suh and Rob Gronkowski as reported by Pewter Report. “Licht says adding players is fluid in terms of bringing back Gronk and Suh and they’ll always keep doors open and constant communication.”
The Buccaneers still have quite a few players that remain free agents.
The Free Agent List
– S Andrew Adams
– CB Pierre Desir
– TE Rob Gronkowski
– DL Steve McLendon
– ILB Kevin Minter
– OLB Jason Pierre-Paul
– S Curtis Riley
– CB Richard Sherman
– DL Ndamukong Suh
The most talked names on that list are, of course, Rob Gronkowski and Ndamukong Suh. Both have been essential parts of what the Buccaneers have developed over the last several seasons, and everyone is curious as to why it is taking so long and what it will take to bring them back for another shot.
As for the rest? All signs point to Richard Sherman being done as a player. There’s been complete radio silence on the Buccaneers intentions in bringing back Jason Pierre-Paul, Steve McLendon and Kevin Minter. All three played crucial roles for the Buccaneers last season. Their time in Tampa may be done, or they just haven’t been able to hammer-out a deal yet.
The draft is fast approaching, the Buccaneers most likely are waiting to see how the draft plays out before making a decision on these free agents. Stay tuned, the next few weeks will be full of Buccaneers news.
