Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Jamel Dean has steadily improved over his first three seasons in the league and is on track for a career year as he enters the final year of his rookie deal.
Defensive coordinator Todd Bowles, who is now the team’s head coach, was one of the primary reasons Dean’s development in Tampa Bay has been so good.
Dean acknowledged after his first season that moving to the NFL revealed how much he still had to learn about the game, particularly when it came to watching film. It didn’t take long for him to understand what a great asset he had in Bowles, who took the rookie cornerback under his wing and began to teach a lifetime’s worth of defensive back knowledge.

Jamel Dean looks to turn the corner heading into his fourth season. The Buccaneers added some veteran presence in Logan Ryan and Keanu Neal, which with a Bowles assist might be just what Dean needs.
