Lions’ Rookie Wants to “Smack” Buccaneers’ Brady

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady has a lot of fans. From his time at Michigan through his tenure with the Patriots and of course two years in Tampa, Brady’s popularity is unquestionable.

Speaking of Michigan, Detroit Lions No.2 overall pick in this year’s draft Aidan Hutchinson recently sat down with Saints defensive lineman Cam Jordan at the 2022 NFLPA Rookie Premiere. Jordan asked the question, “Which NFL quarterback he would most like to sack?”

“I mean I grew up dressing like Tom Brady for like Halloween and stuff,” Hutchinson answered. “So like if I were able to smack Tom Brady and get a sack on him, and hopefully, you know, talk some smack when we get up.” Jordan responded with, “He may not get back up. He’s 45 or something like that.”

Who had Wolverine on Wolverine violence on their BINGO card this morning? Rookies tend to speak before thinking, especially when talking trash to someone of Brady’s caliber. Just ask Chase Young. What struck us as odd was Hutchinson thinking he’ll be on the field against Brady this year. For that to happen the Lions would need to make the playoffs… the Lions… would have to… the playoffs…

Also worth mentioning is Jordan’s response to Brady being hit, “He may not get back up. He’s 45 or something like that.” Jordan, unlike Hutchinson is a veteran, he should know better than to tug on Superman’s cape.
