Buccaneers’ Brady to Fournette: “What’s Your Ass Doing Up There, Man?”

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers re-signed running back Leonard Fournette to a three-year $30 million dollar contract in late March. The signing came shortly after Fournette visited the New England Patriots.

Fournette has done more than enough to earn this payday. After being released by the Jacksonville Jaguars, Fournette played the last two seasons in Tampa under one-year deals. Once he established himself as a three-down back his value skyrocketed, rightfully so. But back to the Fournette visiting the Patriots.

When quarterback Tom Brady decided to come out of retirement and return to the Buccaneers, he started recruiting immediately. So of course when Brady found out that Fournette was in New England he called Fournette and said, “What’s your ass doing up there, man?”

The Brady factor is a real thing, just ask Ryan Jensen and Leonard Fournette. Both players were looking to sign with different teams, until Brady called. The GOAT has that power and we’re all better off for it.
