Gronkowski & The Buccaneers, Rumors In The Air

0

The report of the Buccaneers and retired tight end Rob Gronkowski talking about a potential return broke this week.

As reported by Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times, Gronkowski has stayed in shape and has had several conversations with the team.

“It was more of a conversation than anything else,” head coach Todd Bowles said. “Usually, when you have to think about playing, you probably don’t want to play. When it’s just a discussion, I didn’t think much of it at the time.”

The discussion was to sign Gronkowski to the practice squad so he’d have time to get in football shape. Ultimately it appears Gronk has decided to stay retired.

Christmas day brings presents, and in this case reports from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport…

As Rapoport stated, the Buccaneers won’t have the Gronk back this season. But the door has been left open for a return next year. Gronkowski seems content on focusing on his off-field endeavors for now. But with this latest report, it begs the question… will Gronk be coming back to the Buccaneers? Does that mean Tom Brady is coming back to Tampa as well? Rapoport mentions Brady potentially playing for another team in 2023 so it’s hard to read at the moment.
