The Tampa Bay Buccaneers appear to be headed towards a legitimate quarterback battle. Will it be Kyle Trask or Baker Mayfield? It’s the question on most Bucs’ fans mind.
Up until last week it appeared Trask was a slam dunk to be the starter. Now that Mayfield is in-house, that’s all changed. So who has the leg up? Which signal-caller will get the nod?

NFL Films and noted “film guy” Greg Cosell recently broke down Trask’s game, it wasn’t great.
“He’s a pocket quarterback, he doesn’t more particularly well.”
Cosell continued,
“He does not have a big arm, but his arm is OK. [But] he does not have a big arm. He does not have a gun.”
Cosell then pointed out that Trask is a prototypical pocket passer. That seems like a good thing except pocket passers need… well… a pocket. That requires a solid, fluid and well oiled offensive line. The Buccaneers are looked at as a team with many strengths, offensive line isn’t one of them.
Because of that, Cosell and most analysts think this is Mayfield’s job to lose.
“Trask does not move particularly well, does not have a big arm, that kind of QB very difficult to play with in today’s NFL.”
