Pro Football Focus recently posted their list of the best 32 offensive tackles in the NFL. And yes Buccaneers’ Tristan Wirfs is on the list, just not as high as some would like.
The article posted by Gordon McGuiness has Wirfs as the 7th best offensive tackle. Here is what he had to say about Wirfs.
“One of the most natural pass protectors in the game, Wirfs has produced PFF pass-blocking grades of 82.0 or better in each of his three NFL seasons. It’s true that he was aided by Tom Brady’s quick release over the span, but allowing just six total pressures from 696 pass-blocking snaps in 2022 is still an incredible feat.”
Wirfs ranks high on this list even while playing the right tackle position. This may change this year with reports that Wirfs may move to the left side. Look for Wirfs to be a stalwart on this team’s line regardless of which side he lines up on.
