The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are in a bit of a youth movement in the post-Brady era. While the team still has key veterans throughout the roster, it’s the youth on this team that is key to success.
The question is not only who will step-up, but who will stand-out. According to ESPN’s Jenna Laine that player is rookie linebacker SirVocea Dennis.
ESPN, everybody’s favorite four-letter network recently put out a list of “Surprise offseason standouts for 32 NFL teams: Players to watch” and Dennis made it as representative of the Pewter Pirates.
Here’s what Laine had to say about Dennis.
“A rookie fifth-round pick known more for his pass-rushing ability than his coverage skills at Pitt, Dennis had two pick-sixes in offseason practices — one in rookie camp, then one off Kyle Trask in minicamp. He’s battling with K.J. Britt for the third inside linebacker job behind Devin White and Lavonte David. For a defense that has struggled to get interceptions, it certainly got my attention.”
Dennis, a fifth-round pick will compete with K.J. Britt for the third linebacker position behind Devin White and Lavonte David.
Preseason starts at home against the Pittsburgh Steelers August 11th, Dennis will need to stand up and stand-out.
