Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive back Antoine Winfield Jr has had one helluva season in 2023. From touchdown saving tackles, sacks, and forced fumbles to game sealing interceptions, Winfield Jr has done it all.
So while Winfield Jr hasn’t received any recognition in the form of a Pro Bowl nomination, his play is being noticed.
Enter NFL Network’s Good Morning Football host Jason McCourty. McCourty does a sketch where he lists the best defensive backs in the league each week. Think of it as a power rankings if you will. And guess what? The guy who wasn’t good enough to make the Pro Bowl is McCourty’s defensive back of the year. Not just at the safety position, but all defensive backs!
