Jameis Winston impresses Lovie Smith with his mobility.

Even though, Jameis Winston has been sacked 11 times. He has shown some elusiveness and is mobile enough to keep a defense honest. No, he is not a Mike Vick style running quarterback, but he is more than capable of executing a bootleg and athletic enough to pick up much needed first downs and even run in for a short-yardage touchdown.

“No one will be confusing Jameis Winston with world-class sprinter Usain Bolt anytime soon. Okay, at any point ever. Winston ran a 4.97 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine in February, while Marcus Mariota clocked in at 4.52 and in the eyes of many, the former Seminole was made to look relatively unathletic. But the Bucs didn’t see it that way. ‘When you talk about mobile quarterbacks, what exactly are you trying to do? Are you talking about mobile (being) to take off an run every time?  No,’ head coach Lovie Smith said Tuesday after Pewter Report asked him if he’s been impressed with Winston’s mobility. ‘To me, when I talk about mobility in the pocket, I’m talking about moving and maneuvering and being able to get the pass off.'” – Reported by Zach Shapiro
