The Washington Redskins have signed veteran tight end Vernon Davis. Davis will receive a one-year deal and join Jordan Reed, and Niles Paul in a battle for the starting role, but more than likely sit behind both. It has been since 2013 since Davis was really a threat to NFL defenses, in fact due to his decline in play, the 49ers traded him to the Broncos, who were thought to be re-signing him.
