Former Atlanta Falcon wide receiver, Roddy White stated on 92.9 The Game, a CBS Sports talk show, that the Atlanta Falcons could have made the playoffs, but they did not involve him enough in the game plan. “A lot of times we had opportunities to win games, and I wasn’t put in that position to make that play, and I felt like we lost those games because I wasn’t put in that position to make that play. And I felt like if I was, then we would have been in the playoffs.”
The Falcons ultimately went 8-8 and Roddy White is pretty sure they would have won more games if they used him more. They didn’t, so he’s happy to move on. “Being released wasn’t a bad thing for me because I wasn’t going to be on that team and accept the same role the following year, or then I would have self-destructed around there. I would have went crazy if I would have had to go through that another year. I can’t play football like that, I was miserable.”
White has been speaking to teams about how he could fit in, and still believes he can play at a high level. White refuses to join a team that isn’t going to contend next season and says he would rather retire than play for a losing team. No word on which teams he is talking to, but in an interview, he stated that joining his former offensive coordinator and head coach in Tampa, would be something he would like.
