Jacquies Smith had fallen victim to a season-ending injury and in order to fill the hole left in his absence, the Buccaneers will look for the sophomore player in Howard Jones and the rookie DT DaVonte Lambert to fill those holes. Lambert listed as a DT has recently had that title changed to defensive end. Lambert was an undrafted free agent this year.
Howard had five sacks last year and has ample speed coming in off the edge. Dirk Koetter believes that DaVonte Lambert can play the inside at DT and the outside as DE similarly to Robert Ayers who has been listed as limited with an ankle injury for Thursday’s practice.
