Vincent Jackson’s season is over.

Vincent Jackson sustained an ACL injury, during Monday Night’s win over the Carolina Panthers, and has been placed on Injury Reserve, ending his season and likely his career as a Buccaneers wide receiver.

The injury to Jackson leaves the Bucs in a tough position, however, there is some light at the end of this darkest of tunnels. WR’s Louis Murphy and Cecil Shorts have both returned to the field of practice giving hope to a depleted WR core.

Jackson has played 12 years int he NFL and 5 of them as a Buc, he has been a major asset to the team, although many fans would disagree with that statement based on his injuries in the past two seasons. However, his crucial catches in the Monday Night game that helped to set up the game-winning field goal, are indicative of just how important he was.

I for one will miss Vincent Jackson this miss season, whether fans believe he did anything or not, his veteran experience and expertise were a huge blessing for these young receivers, and if his career in Tampa is over, he will be sorely missed.
