Jacquizz Rodgers continues to impress

Jacquizz Rodgers made short work of the 49ers run defense, one that is considered to be the worst in the NFL. His 100-yard rushing performance in the first half of the game, helped Tampa come back from a 14-0 San Fran lead in the first quarter. Also, his performance and that of the Tampa defenseĀ helped spark a 17-0 Buccaneers run, allowing Tampa to enjoy a three-point lead heading into half-time.

Rodgers did not score any touchdowns in yesterday’s contest but did manage to shred the ‘9ers defense for 154-yards on 26 carries, marking his second 100-yard game since getting the starting call. Rodgers’ performance could not come at a better time, as Tampa was in a dire situation having both of their primary running backs out for an extended period of time. Ā

Many speculate that Rodgers’ performance was only sparked by poor opposition, and will have to prove himself against a stout run defense. He will get his chance to do just that next week, as we face the Oakland Raiders at home. If RodgersĀ can continue his 100+ yard streak then it will likely work in Jacquizz’s favor when it comes to the tough decisions that will be made in the offseason.
