Kendall Beckwith – Starter at Linebacker by Week 1?

With the final pick of the third round, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers selected Kendall Beckwith, Linebacker, out of Louisiana State University. Beckwith will join his former teammate from college Kwon Alexander, who spread his joy about the acquisition via Twitter.

Beckwith, 6’3” and 247 lbs, was supposed to get picked in the second round of the draft during his strong senior season, but he tore his ACL in LSU’s penultimate regular season game against Florida, which obviously made his stock drop.

He might potentially end up filling the open linebacker spot recently vacated by Daryl Smith sooner than later. This position is still up for grabs and will likely be a weak spot in the Buccaneers’ defense this season.

Yet, this could also be a great chance for a very young player to be given an opportunity early on in his career! Let us hope he can dominate on the field, just like his old friend Kwon!
