The Detroit Lions re-sign former Bucs TE Tim Wright

Tim Wright was signed by Tampa as an undrafted free agent in 2013. The former Rutgers TE spent one season with Tampa, playing in all 16 games and recording 54 receptions for 571 yards and 5 touchdowns.The following season he was traded to the New England Patriots in a deal for Logan Mankins.

After a season with the Patriots, he was waived and later re-signed by the Buccaneers. Tampa again traded Wright, but this time to the Detroit Lions for a kicker Kyle Brindza.

After playing in 9 games for the Lions in 2016, recording 9 receptions for 77 yards and two TDs, the team has re-signed Wright to a one-year $675,000 contract.
