Some Bucs writers and fans have been pondering a potential trade of TE Cameron Brate. In this writer’s opinion, this would rank as one of the worst trades in Bucs history.
Brate has become one of Jameis Winston’s favorite targets, especially on third down. Brate might not have blazing speed but his route running is perfect. He might not be the greatest blocker but he is excellent in the red zone.
Last year Brate put up 48 catches for 591 yards and 6 TDs. So, unless a team is willing to give up a 1st or high 2nd round pick to sweeten the deal, Brate should not be traded. It would be nice to see him retire as a Buccaneer!
