NFL: Three Interesting Games on the Week One Slate

0

It is week one in the 2018 NFL Season. This week several solid matchups on the slate lend for some good watching. While we all have own team that we will tune into, there are several other games that may peak your interest. Here is a look at three other games on the week one slate that may grab your attention.

San Francisco 49ers at Minnesota Vikings

This is a bottle of two high-paid young QBs in the league. Jimmy Garoppolo is looking to stay undefeated as a starting QB. Meanwhile, Kirk Cousins wants to show he is worth $84 million in guaranteed money.

I believe this game will come down to defense. The Vikings have one of the best while the Niners are young, up and coming. Which defense will force a mistake from one of these QBs?

If your team is not playing you can catch this game at 1 pm EST on FOX.

Pittsburgh Steelers at Cleveland Browns

The Steelers are beginning the season without their star running back. Is that going to be an issue in this game? Will the team become a one-dimensional passing team if James Conner is ineffective?

On the other side of the ball, the Browns are looking to make an early statement in 2018. They want other teams to know that this is not the 2017 Cleveland Browns. They are here to make some noise in 2018. Will Tyrod Taylor and company be able to do that in week one.

Tune in to the game at 1 pm EST on CBS to find out.

Houston Texans at New England Patriots

The Texans are on a mission. I feel that they are one of the best teams in the AFC. A week one win can go a long way. Especially in the race for home field advantage come playoff time. Deshaun Watson and his band of weapons on offense will look to show the Patriots defense that they have some work to do if they want a return trip to the Super Bowl.

For the New England Patriots, this season starts with a few missing pieces. Danny Amendola left in free agency and Julien Edelman is out on suspension. Tom Brady is entering his 19th season as a QB in the NFL. Is his O-Line ready to handle the pressure of protecting the ageless one? They have a tough task in week one with J.J. Watt and Jadeveon Clowney.

You can catch this game at 1 PM EST on CBS.

The NFL has a full slate in week one. This is just a few games that may peak your interest outside of your favorite team on Sunday.
