Barber Doesn’t Score Week1 – How Can He Be Successful In Week 2?

Welcome everyone to Bucs Report with Buccaneer Blake! It feels good to start the week with a win doesn’t it? Bucs win against the Saints, with a powerhouse amount of points generated between the two teams. My X-factor of the game, Peyton Barber, had 19 attempts and 69 yards rushing against a buttercup Saints defense. Will Barber have to put up better numbers against the heavy run stopping defense of the Philadelphia Eagles?

Barber may not have scored a rushing touchdown against the Saints, but without his efforts the Buccaneers offense would have suffered. Furthermore, Barber and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will have to put up some decent numbers on the ground to have another effective passing game, when they play against the Eagles. The key to Barbers success will be to make the first defender miss and take the yards that is given to him. Much like, what I said in my last article called “The X Factor,” the Buccaneers are going to have to be creative against the front seven of the Eagles, in order to have success. Monken cannot be predictable against the defending Super Bowl champs. I, encourage Monken to continue taking shots down the field and make our receivers work their magic against a vulnerable Eagle secondary.

My prediction will be that OC Monken will call a lot of inside run plays to set up play action passing later on, in order to buy time for Fitzpatrick to get the ball downfield to our receivers. Barber will have about 80 yards rushing and one rushing TD.
