According to HC Dirk Koetter, Jameis Winston is still re-adjusting to the speed of the game.
Winston took advantage of his three-game suspension by taking to another field and running similar practices to what the Bucs run at Advent Health Training facility.
Winston to keep on pace with the team, got together with former players, and others and mimicked actual practices. The work he put it in certainly helped Jameis stay on pace and it showed in practice when he returned to the team. However, there is a difference between game speed and practice speed. Despite those differences, Koetter said Jameis looked good at practice this week.
When Koetter was asked about how he feels Jameis will perform, this is what he had to say,
“That’s hard to say until we really play full speed because practice is practice and game-speed is game-speed. But I think Jameis has looked good this week and I wouldn’t expect anything else.”
