The Buccaneers Release One and Sign a Familiar Face

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have released WR Damoun Patterson from the practice squad and have replaced him with WR Bernard Reedy.

Reedy is a familiar face in Tampa, being a native of St. Petersberg, and has been with HC Dirk Koetter since they both were in Atlanta back in 2014. Dirk Koetter likes the kid and notes that his speed is outstanding. His teammates in Atlanta aptly named him ‘Speedy Reedy.’

Despite being extremely fast, Reedy did not see a whole lot of regular season action in Tampa as far as the wide receiver position is concerned. However, Reedy did see quite a bit of game action as a returner. In 2017, Reedy was active in 9 games, returning 7 kickoffs for 145 yards, and 14 punts for 143 yards.

The Bucs opted to let Reedy go towards the end of the 2017 season, and the New England Patriots signed the speedster. Reedy saw only a handful of punt returns, gaining just 32 yards. He did get a Super Bowl ring despite the Patriots losing last year’s championship.

The Patriots released Reedy back in March of this year.
