Djax not being happy is worst kept secret at One Buc Place

Rumor has it that DeSean Jackson hasn’t been happy in Tampa Bay for awhile. Our undisclosed source has it that he has not been happy way before he talked about his frustrations to the media earlier this week. It has been a very frustrating couple of years for Jackson and for the entire team, and the reason being is they are not winning. That said Jackson is obviously competitive and has an unending desire to win. Something that hasn’t happened on the Bucs consistently in a very long time.

It started with an underwhelming first season for DeSean where he only garnished 668 yards and 3 TD’s. He was brought to Tampa Bay to be a fast deep threat for Jameis Winston, but they simply could not connect consistently last season. That connection changed though when backup QB Ryan Fitzpatrick started in place of the then suspended Winston for the first 4 games of the season. During most of that stretch there were plenty Fitzmagic & Djax highlights connecting for deep TD’s.

Since that point though it has been a QB carousel, and during the stint where Winston was starting Jackson reportedly asked to be traded away before the deadline. It was never confirmed by him in public, but it seemed apparent that he wasn’t happy.

Some people around One Buc Place have known that for awhile. Our undisclosed source has said that he has a tendency to be withdrawn and “doesn’t eat with anyone and takes his food to go.” Our source also states that he “only talks to Evans… Is a total prick to the staff… and barely slows down for people in the parking lot” when leaving the facility.

Earlier this week HC Dirk Koetter was notably frustrated when asked about Jackson asking for a trade saying, “[DeSean] didn’t ask me. He didn’t ask me about it. You’re talking to me about stuff — I don’t even know what you’re talking about.” He then later eluded that he did in fact have conversations with Licht about trading Jackson before the deadline per ESPN’s Jenna Laine.

When the media asked DeSean about the fade rumors he said, “Hey, man, whatever them conversations were, that was between us,” Jackson said, flashing a smile. “It’s over and done with now. We’re moving forward. We’ve got eight games left to continue to do our best to try and get in the playoffs and try to go on a run here.”

And he went on to say, “I can’t say I’m as happy. I’m not winning. I’m not being as productive. For me to sit here and say I’m happy with that, I’d be lying to you,”

It seems that there is turmoil between Jackson and the team, and only one thing would seem to clear that: winning. As it is widely known, winning cures all.
