The Buccaneers lost a nasty-weather game in Baltimore in week 15. With heavy rain throughout the whole game, both teams tried to find success running the football. Peyton Barber ran the ball 19 times. He rushed for 85 yards and a touchdown.
Baltimore ran the ball an unbelievable 49 times for a total of 242 yards. Rookie quarterback Lamar Jackson had 18 rushes for 95 yards and the Bucs defense had no answer for the Ravens’ multi-dimensional and unpredictable rushing offense.
Jameis Winston struggled to find a rhythm, which was also caused by huge drops by Godwin and Evans, as well. Mike Evans ended up having a very good game considering the bad weather. He finished the afternoon with 4 catches for 121 Yards. Chris Godwin, on the other hand, went catchless and has only one catch in the last two games now.
As expected, considering Baltimore’s tough defense in combination with heavy rain, Jameis Winston only passed for 157 yards and completed only 13 of his 25 pass attempts. To make matters worse, he was picked off on a bad pass to Mike Evans, which was his only bad decision of the game, however.
The Bucs had a chance to turn this game around late in the game when Winston found Humphries for an eight-yard gain which would have given Tampa Bay a 3rd&1 inside the Ravens’ 5 yard line, but Mike Evans was called for offensive pass interference on a very questionable call.
Nonetheless, the Bucs lost to the Ravens 20-12. This loss will most likely have sealed the end of the Dirk Koetter era in Tampa.
Next up is another difficult away matchup against a Cowboys team that has been playing very well lately, especially on defense.
