Former Bucs CB Announces Retirement

Late last night former Buccaneer CB Alterraun Verner announced his retirement from the NFL officially on social media.

Verner, 30, was drafted by the Tennessee Titans in 2010 before he was signed away by Tampa Bay after signing a 4-year $25.5 million deal in 2014.

The veteran CB was to help aid a unit fill a void left by Darrelle Revis. Ultimately though, he never lived up to those expectations after 3 up and down years with the Bucs. Where he collected 140 combined tackles, 20 PD’s, 3 FF, and 4 INT’s.

In 2017, he was released by Tampa Bay and then signed a 1-year deal with Miami to finish out his career.
