The Tampa Bay Buccaneers found out Tuesday that they were suddenly in the market for a quarterback. Yes, Tom Brady retired from the NFL Tuesday.Â
"No one wants to be in a position where they don't have a quarterback," Licht says of the challenge of acquiring a veteran quarterback this spring. Says he likes how Kyle Trask compares to the top QBs in this year's draft.

Later in the day, Buccaneers general manager Jason Licht held a press conference via ZOOM. After addressing all the questions about the retirement of Brady, Licht was asked about what’s next, in particular, where does Kyle Trask fit in their plans and does this excelerate the process?
…resources to get to where he is right now. But we’ll see where that goes. We don’t want to rush anybody. But I couldn’t think of a better experience for a young quarterback to spend his rookie year than with the greatest player of all time.’’

Licht wanted to be clear they aren’t anointing him the starter, but are happy they have him and got him when they did. Licht went on to say that all options are on the table for the Bucs and their quarterback position.
"…pretty good where he stacks up with these quarterbacks and I feel like we made a good decision last year.'' Bucs GM Jason Licht.

Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians had the same sentiments towards Trask last week.
