Buccaneers’ Jensen is One Tough SOB

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ roster is full of household names and larger than life characters. From Tom Brady to Vita Vea to Mike Evans this roster is stacked in talent and personality. Then there’s center Ryan Jensen who has both talent and personality and is also one tough son of a bitch.

Carmen Vitali of The Draft Network recently let us know just how tough Jensen is.

As Vitali reports, Jensen tore his hip flexor against the Miami Dolphins in Week five. The following week was a short week for the Buccaneers having to travel to Philadelphia for a Thursday night game. Jensen, obviously still nursing the injury informed quarterback Tom Brady he didn’t think he’d be able to play. Brady’s response, “The f*ck you’re not.”

Jensen has been an anchor on the Bucs’ line since signing with them in 2018. He hasn’t missed a game since signing that deal. And as Vitali reports, with the help of Brady’s personal trainer Alex Guerrero Jensen not only played, but had arguably his best game of the season.

An injury the magnitude of a torn hip flexor isn’t something that goes away quickly. A minor hip flexor tear takes nearly a month to fully recover from. But the report on Jensen’s tear is that it was nearly a 75% torn, those take up to eight to nine weeks to recover from. Yet, Jensen never missed a start. The word tough might not do justice to this.
