With Jameis Winston and Doug Martin, Tampa has hope

Jameis Winston and Doug Martin are both playing very good football. Doug has bounced back from the previous two years of performance to produce 100 yards shy of what he produced in 8 games during his breakout year in 2012. Jameis Winston is performing higher than expectations and is turning the non-believer into believers, with every game. He is showing off veteran qualities and leadership skills that most quarterbacks do not show, for years.

“Midseason MVP: Doug Martin. He ran for more than 100 yards in three consecutive games, bringing back memories of his Pro Bowl rookie season of 2012. His renaissance has come at a perfect time for the Bucs, whose offense continues to develop an identity with rookie quarterback Jameis Winston and new coordinator Dirk Koetter. Martin’s effectiveness on the ground allowed Winston to play disciplined from the pocket late in the season’s first half. The better Martin runs, the more dangerous Tampa Bay will be.” – Report by Andrew Astleford
