JR Sweezy. Does that name ring a bell? If it doesn’t you might be wondering if I am referring to a new rapper with a name like that. If you do know who I am talking about you might be shaking your head in frustration that the Bucs signed him to a five-year, $32.5 million contract last offseason only to eventually injure his back and be forced to sit out the whole season.
The plan for JR Sweezy was for him to come right in and fill the void left after Logan Mankins retired last season. Getting him back is definitely encouraging news, this is a guy who is known for his run blocking and helped plow open a lot of holes when he played with Marshawn Lynch up in Seattle.
If he can bring that same ability to Tampa look for him to give quite a boost to the offensive line next year, the run game in particular.
