Earlier today NFL.com posted an article on the possibility of the Bucs trying Ali Marpet at center.
Marpet who has been playing right guard for the Bucs in each of his last two seasons told the Tampa Bay Times that the Bucs plan to try him out at center.
The Bucs currently have Evan Smith and Joe Hawley at center but with the return of J.R. Sweezy, who spent last season out with a back injury, it will be necessary to move Marpet inward on the line.
It might not be as huge of a position battle as K Roberto Aguayo and K Nick Folk, but don’t be surprised next season, Bucs fans, if you see Number 74 snapping the ball to Jamies Winston on opening day.
