Mike Evans established himself as a top-tier receiver last season, ending the season with over 1300 yards receiving, and 12 touchdowns.
Mike had 22 more receptions than in the previous year (74 in 2015, 96 last season). Evans has been the number 1 guy, and in all honesty, will continue to be the go-to receiver for Jameis moving forward.
But with the offseason acquisitions of Desean Jackson and the drafting of OJ Howard, Evans may not need to be looked to as much as before. Don’t forget, Tampa also has Cameron Brate who had a career year last season and led NFL TEs with 8 TDs.
While I cannot predict yards and injuries, I can predict that Mike Evans will still be a top guy in Tampa and in The NFL. However, stats may not indicate this. Believe me, it would be fantastic to have 2 wide receivers going over the 1,000- yard mark, but winning games is more important. I think the Bucs will do just that this season and win plenty of games.
Look for this wide receiving core to be one of the best in the NFL this coming season.
