PFF Rates Brent Grimes as Top 5 Playmaker.

No sign of slowing down for this NFL cornerback, who has been in the league since 2007.

Grimes, who is 34 years old, went undrafted in the 2006 NFL draft, and as far as I know, he is the only cornerback from that year starting in the NFL. Not bad for a guy, who went undrafted.

What makes Grimes even more remarkable is that he continues to play at a high level, year in and year out.

Called by his wife Miko, the anchor of Tampa’s secondary, Brent has earned a prestigious rating from Pro Football Focus.

PFF rated Brent Grimes as 3rd in the top 5 playmaking cornerbacks since 2015. I agree 100%, whether it pisses anyone off, or not!

Grimes is likely in his final year in Tampa, and possibly in the NFL, as he has been contemplating retirement for the past couple of years. Thankfully, he has decided to remain in the NFL and more importantly, with the Buccaneers, and hopefully, our GM can talk #24 into staying with the team another following 2018.

However unlikely the scenario involving Brent Grimes staying with the Buccaneers next year is, I have been more than happy with his performance and am more than thankful to have had him on our team.

Considering Brent Grimes has quietly, despite Miko’s many attempts to tell the world, been one of the better cornerbacks in the league for a long ass time, he more than deserves this prestigious rating that PFF has bestowed upon him. Quite frankly, I believe he should be bumped up to the top.
