Mike Evans Starts Season with a Bang

What a game to watch Sunday when the Bucs went up to New Orleans and came away with the win. Fitzmagic is alive and well, Bills fans are probably sick to their stomach seeing his 5 touchdowns today, and the strength of the Buccaneer receivers was on full display. With that being said, I hope they all heal up for next week, especially DeSean whose leadership, talent and heart were on display with an impressive performance that will make Saints fans lose sleep this season.

Let’s not forget about Mike. Mike Evans went off. The whole offense played very well, the offensive line and ground game were a nice noticeable improvement and everyone did their job. Mike, however, he just seems focused and aware of his role and importance to the team. 7 catches for 147 yards and a touchdown in week 1 against our rival the Saints in New Orleans is what we all hoped for when he signed that extension and he delivered. The connection between Mike and Fitzpatrick seems to be off to a great start, had they connected on the one the defensive back fell on, I’d say it was almost a perfect start for the season.

With the Super Bowl Champion, Philadelphia Eagles set to visit Tampa this Sunday, you can bet the Buccaneers are looking to build off the chemistry developed in their impressive shootout with Drew Brees and the Saints.
